The Berean Scale is an independent Bible study publication devoted to examining Scripture carefully, testing doctrine against the Word, and pursuing truth without loyalty to tradition, denomination, or popular opinion.
The name is rooted in the example of the Bereans in Acts 17:11, who received the message eagerly while examining the Scriptures daily to determine whether what they were hearing was true.
That same principle guides this site. The goal is not to defend inherited theology simply because it is familiar. The goal is to ask a singular, more important question: What does the Scripture actually say?
Particular attention is given to the Tanakh, the Torah, the teachings of Yeshua, the apostolic writings, prophecy, biblical monotheism, covenant, obedience, and the Kingdom of Yahweh.
Our Approach to Scripture
The Berean Scale seeks to read Scripture in its original biblical setting rather than forcing later theological systems back into the text.
We approach the Bible through close reading, examining historical context, ancient Near Eastern backgrounds, and the Second Temple Jewish setting. Literal, formal-equivalence translations—such as the NASB 1995 and Legacy Standard Bible (LSB)—are preferred for rigorous textual study over dynamic equivalence. Where necessary, studies drill down into the underlying Hebrew and Greek vocabulary, lexical meaning, usage, morphology, and grammar.
No translation, teacher, denomination, creed, commentary, or tradition is treated as infallible. Scripture is the only measuring line.
Yahweh, Yeshua, and the Biblical Witness
The Berean Scale maintains absolute biblical monotheism: confessing Yahweh as the one true God, the Father and Creator, and recognizing Yeshua as His anointed Son, Messiah, King, and Mediator.
Rather than beginning with later 4th-century creedal formulations, our studies seek to understand Yeshua strictly within the language and categories of the Hebrew Scriptures, the Shema, messianic prophecy, covenant, kingship, and the testimony of the apostles.
This site unapologetically emphasizes the biblical pattern expressed in Revelation 14:12: keeping the commandments of Yahweh and the faith of Yeshua. Grace is not treated as permission for lawlessness (antinomianism), nor is obedience treated as a means of purchasing salvation. Biblical faith—emunah—is living, faithful, and obedient.
Biblical Discernment
The Berean Scale vigorously examines teachings that demand careful scrutiny. Topics frequently addressed include:
- Eschatology and Prophecy: Examining date-setting and unsupported prophetic claims.
- Modern Church Doctrines: Challenging prosperity gospels, “cheap grace,” and unbiblical pastoral authority.
- The Nature of God & Messiah: Testing commonly assumed dogmas against the original text.
- Torah & Covenant: Exploring the enduring relevance of Yahweh’s instructions.
The purpose is not controversy for controversy’s sake; it is discernment. Every teacher, tradition, and theological system must be tested—and that standard applies equally to views held by this site.

Readers can expect detailed studies covering scriptural interpretation, word studies, and historical context. Whenever possible, articles will meticulously distinguish between:
- What the text explicitly states.
- What can reasonably be inferred.
- What remains an interpretation or theological conclusion.
That distinction matters. Faith should not require pretending that Scripture says more than it actually says.
The Narrow Path
The Berean Scale exists for readers who are willing to open the Scriptures, question assumptions, pursue teshuvah, walk in obedience, and follow truth wherever the biblical evidence leads.
No denomination owns the truth. No modern movement owns the truth. No teacher owns the truth. Yahweh’s Word is the standard.
